Walk with us in the Bucharest old city center

Bucharest is an amazing, vibrant city with spectacular architecture and amazingly fresh food. You’ll experience a unique blend of Eastern and Western culture without peer in the world. Also, consider visiting Bucharest old city center at night, when the entire neighborhood feels like one big sprawling cocktail party. The party never ends and you’ll be amazed of how many people are there at the wee hours of the morning.

Meet local craftsmen and artisans and get your hands dirty

You cannot really get a feeling of Romania without understanding what Romanians are doing and how they are doing it. We crisscrossed the country to find the best local experiences, the best workshops and the friendliest people. Visit the local galleries and studios to meet the artists and pick up a unique keepsake or special gift. You might even feel inspired to try your hand at creating something beautiful of your own (and perhaps discover a hidden talent). You’ll love it!

Let us arrange a meal in a countryside home for you

The biggest problem when eating with locals in the countryside is that the food is too delicious and the portions really huge! Home made eggplant salad (zacusca), fantastic sour soups (ciorba), heart-attack-worthy polenta with sheep cheese (bulz), pork cooked in the most amazing ways, cheese pies to die for. We can’t even make the full list but you have to take our word for it: they are all incredibly delicious!

Listen to an organ concerto in a Saxon fortified church

That feeling of listening to God’s music in a sacred place in the middle of a Transylvanian village, where you have the feeling that time stands still, is really something special. Bach’s music never sounded more meaningful – sad and uplifting at the same time.

Visit the Merry Cemetery with a translator

The Merry Cemetery is a special place. It is a cemetery, so you should keep your composure and pay your respects. On the other hand, it is hilarious and a highly unusual place worth visiting. Make sure you get there with one of our tour guides to get the proper translation of the epitaphs, otherwise you may lose half the fun.

See the pelicans in the Danube Delta reserve

Getting to the pelicans’ breeding grounds means getting through the narrow channels of the Danube Delta and being in awe of the immense variety of birds, fish and plants in this incredible paradise, the Danube Delta being the largest and best preserved of Europe’s deltas.

And of course, Dracula...

You cannot read any brochure about Romania without reading about blood-sucking Count Dracula. Of course you are intrigued. And of course we have the best medicine for your curiosity. Bran Castle, Sighisoara are two of the most famous Dracula related places in Transylvania. If you are lucky (or not 😉 you can even meet him. The word goes that he is not dead yet and Bram Stoker was a patent liar.
